When dreams come true.
Last Sunday around 1.45pm a group of cool yogis :-) got together for another chakra workshop with me. I was just making one of my dreams come true: to do a yoga moment on that spot right there. With stunning nature around us. Felt so "good" being there. One of those moments it seems that is meant to be.
It was my fourth workshop about chakras this year. It was all about the AIR element and our heart center of energy. The Anahata chakra. It was an exceptional yoga moment.
We started our practice 'off the mat' and completely emerged into nature. One of the suggestions to work with the heart chakra energy is to walk close to nature. And so we did.
Our meeting point was at MAKORORI HEADLAND. Situated at the end of one of the gorgeous beaches here in Gisborne; called Wainui. Pure magic.
It was an uphill walk towards the top of this incredible mountain. Not an easy one as we were mostly walking uphill, but it's just breathtaking. We were a group of 14 walking together but in total silence. We reached the top and stayed for a few minutes contemplating that fantastic view and natural life force. I was beyond grateful and happy to be there with all of them. After that, we drove back to Reset where we continue to flow, but at that time we were 'on our mats.'
First 'ásana' (pose) was a restorative one to calm the breath and also to give a little rest to our legs and backs. That was the moment where we connected with our intentions on that present moment allowing our heart's desire to unfold for another practice.
I love to work with Anahata chakra mainly because we are getting in contact with our most pure and potent human quality that is compassion. That ability that we all have to put ourselves in the place of others and feel their pain and sorrow and to connect with everyone on that deep and emotional level. That level where we understand 'we are one.' For real.
Physically we moved a lot our arms and shoulders, and we expanded and opened our chest area too. Of course, backbends are a must here not mentioning the 'pranayamas' - more than just a breathing exercise - a total control of the life force.
Another reason why delivering a class like this feels so amazingly good is because we are always moving our bodies in a very fluid and synchronized way. We feel like we are the AIR ELEMENT itself in a very calm spring day :-)
Close to our deep relaxation (savasana), we did a meditation to awaken our compassion towards the world, the humanity and towards ourselves.
It was just a few days ago, but I still feel the effects on me. It even got me inspired to share my 'yoga for thoughts' about this experience. I think I can say it was real "chakra work out" as I received a couple of feedbacks saying that they felt their legs shaking during our practice 'on the mat' and most of them felt emotional during the meditation. Anyway, they stated that they were all very thankful for their time 'off and on' the mat. And that is what makes me super happy.
To me, the feeling of PEACE was just incredible. All the time. Before, during and especially; after. Difficult to express in words how grateful I am for every single body and soul that came this last Sunday afternoon. It was an extraordinary full moon ritual.
To you all, I dedicate my pure compassion.
Namaste beautiful people. My wish for you is always peace, love, and protection.
Maria :-)
