Oh Samadhi _/\_

Image
A film by www.innerworldsmovie.com SAMADHI is a word in Sanskrit that hasn't a proper translation. But Pantajali - the grand master and creator of the yoga philosophy - once said that Samadhi would be close for those who were committed to their meditation practice. As many yoga teachers mean, we need to have TAPAS. A discipline is an essential tool to a yogi since the very ancient times. Samadhi can be pure ENLIGHTENMENT. That moment of pure awakening that many of us felt before either during meditation or during 'real life' when sometimes that unexpected wisdom arise and pure love unfolds when we need it. And we feel that we are enough and have enough. No need for searching anything. Just being. Enough said. Watch this excellent movie and understand not only why we do yoga and meditation but also why we do every little thing we do. BE CAREFUL as we are talking about DANGEROUS CONTENT THAT MIGHT CHANGE YOUR PERCEPTION FOREVER ;-) The big risk is that you can experie...

The symbol of anahata chakra

Image
The 12 petals of the lotus, each has a Sanskrit symbol, surround two triangles superimposed on each other forming a hexagonal star.  The upward-pointing triangle represents Shiva (yang) and three higher chakras (anahata, vishuddha, and ajna) and the downward-pointing triangle, represents Shakti (yin)  and the three lower chakras (muladhara, svadhistana and manipura). They also indicate inhalation and exhalation.  A symbol of perfect balance, it is traditionally colored smoky gray, like incense rising in a draft of air. In the center is a bana linga like a crescent moon, to represent the psychic blockage within. It is set in a shinny golden triangle - showing the explosion of the divine light that can be seen when the vishnu granthi (knot) is untied and the heart chakra opens. The deer at the bottom refers to the lightness of physical substance in the air element. There are also the picture of two Deities: Isa and Kakini Isa is an aspect of Shiva , Lord of Sp...

Celebrating a new Equinox.

Image
Inspiration came today with the new Equinox. Here in the southern hemisphere we are welcoming the FALL (autumnal equinox) while in the northern hemisphere people are receiving SPRING (vernal equinox).  But what is an Equinox again? According to astronomy is when the sun's direct rays are crossing over the Earth's equator from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere.  During these days we have nearly equal amounts of daylight and darkness. So, day and night are balanced to nearly 12 hours each. All over the world.  The Autumn or Fall is such a special time to observe nature and feel connected and more intuitive. We can observe the exotic trees turning into autumnal shades of gold, orange and red; and also settled sunny days are common.  Autumn  is known as the  season  of the  harvest , when we reap what we planted in the spring. It is the  time  to gather nature's bounty, the fruits and vegetables, the grains and nuts....

What is Chakra?

Image
CHAKRA is a sanskrit word and it means center of energy. The yoga philosophy believe we have millions of energy centers all over our bodies but there are seven principals that are distributed along the spine. Even tho it's impossible to see the centers of energy on a x-ray for example; the connections they have with our emotional-physical-subtle bodies is incredibly felt when we are practicing yoga or any other holistic discipline such as Reiki or Acupuncture. THE SEVEN CHAKRAS MULADHARA - THE FIRST CENTER OF ENERGY - located at the base of the spine and is also called "the root chakra". Represent security, stability and safety. Related with the feet, legs and also with the intestines. The element that represents Muladhara is earth and the color is red. SVADHISTANA - THE SECOND CENTER OF ENERGY - located below the navel and also called "the sacral chakra". It represents creative and sexual energies. Is where all the power to create resides....
